Just because you like to ride on two wheels instead of four doesn’t mean you can’t go green. Meant to be an urban cruiser, the Brammo Enertia Electric Motorcycle (US$12,000 and up) uses six Lithium Phosphate battery modules to propel you from zero to 30 mph in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 50mph and a range of 45 miles from a single 3-hour charge. The fact that it looks fantastic is just icing on the cake.
Boeing goes bonkers
We have mentioned the increased efficiency and lower emissions of blended wing-body aircraft before—like the X-48B, now in its prototype testing phase. Seeing two of them getting ready to take off, however, pushes the concept from the That’s Pretty Cool to the Geezussrollerbladingchrist, We Want These So Badly category. Even if it’s just a synthetic image, they look absolutely stunning.

This outlandish looking FrankenPorsche is known as the “Veyron killer” — and seemingly with good reason.
Say hello to the 9ff GT9, a Porsche-derived tarmac missile that recently sped to a velocity of 409km/h at a test track in Papenburg, Germany. If the claim is accurate, it eclipses the Veyron’s 407km/h benchmark (formerly the record for street-legal production cars), and falls just short of the 412km/h record-breaking run of the American-built SSC Aero .
Although spawned from the Porsche 911 GT3, the 9ff GT9 allegedly shares only two per cent of its components with the former. Its appearance is also well removed, thanks to a heavily chopped roofline and a stretched (by about 300mm) chassis in the quest for better aerodynamics and stability. Call me a nerd if you must, but I’ve been watching the progress of the “dog” series robots from Boston Dynamics for a while.
I now feel the time has come to share my fears with you all. Check this video out. Something happens about 35 seconds in that may give you the chills. Or.. if it doesn’t, it should.. I bring you.. “Big Dog”
Just this morning. I almost drove into a wall! Two brand new Rams on a car-carrier driving up Mt Ousley. Call me a hillbilly if you must but this is big news. The Ram with the Cummins turbo-diesel is one of very few cars to spike my interest these days. I did some snooping around online this morning, and as far as I can tell, this is the first “official sighting” of new Rams in the wild in Oz.
I can’t wait for my father-in law to find out..
Anyone else hear the Dukes Of Hazard theme song in their head?

Finally, a V6 turbo diesel is scheduled for an Aussie built family car. The VE Commodore has today been confirmed as the first to receive the diesel treatment within the next 18 months.
The engine, developed jointly with VM Motori in Italy will see life in all manner of GM products from Opel, through Holden, and even in to Hummer’s H3 (about time) though is not expected to appear in VE until early 2009.
Dubbed V6 VMM, the diesel will share the lime light with a bigger version (mainly squared at GMC trucks) which boasts 4.5 litre capacity and producing 700Nm.
There is at this stage no word on capacity and spec of the VE’s diesel, but we here at Joshinthecity have heard whispers of 2.7L and 500nm, rest assured, we’ll keep you posted.
When you think of Mercedes-Benz, cheap isn’t exactly a word that comes to mind, but when you look at the sticker price for the all-new 2008 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG, the words cheap, bargain and steal are hard to ignore.
The car that tops the C-class range will land in Mercedes dealerships all over the country in March, and the best bit? It will start from only $139,500 Australian Pesos. That’s $17,500 less than the new BMW M3 and a massive $25,000 cheaper than the aging Audi RS4.
